Platform : Tabletop
Context
At the beginning of my Master's degree, they asked us to make groups and work on one of three projects for one week. The directions for my group were the following: design and create a fun board game about student life in the (INUC) campus, which will feature instructions about how to register and how to deal with the essential administrative paperwork.
The Game

The game board
The game is about exploring an approximate map of the campus. You move around the board by throwing dice. You'd have to interact with different services and the college's points of interest. Some of these points can only be utilized if you possess a certain item. Those items can be obtained thanks to the "?" square, which would make you pick a "?" card. Those cards can be items and events. Events can be beneficial or detrimental. All of these interactions and events are a reflection of what actually happens on our campus.
At the start of the game, Exam cards are shuffled in a specific way inside the stack so they're equally distributed. These Exam cards are global events where each player will have to add and remove points thanks to respectively their bonuses and maluses. If your grade is above a certain threshold, you are successful. Your goal is to succeed in three exams. There are many choices to be made. For example, the Community Life square lets you draft cards that represent (real-life) student associations.
There are many types of associations and each gives the player strategic advantages. A player can only have one association card, and would have to drop his current one to get another one.
My role
I have mainly focussed on the game design. I played around with the make-shift board and discussed a lot with my team-mates. I then managed the playtests and created documentation for the game.
